Welcome to the Swallow Cafe, the local hangout for Hino citizens, and where ”impeccable hospitality is the flavor of life". That's the policy that I, Yoshiharu Tsubameya, the cafe's owner, live by. My superb customer service is often referred to as exceptional… enough to make my cafe fairly famous among locals. Not like that kind of thing really matters to me… whether my cafe is renowned or otherwise… my policy remains the same. And I vow to offer that same level of hospitality today as I do every day!

Trivia[]

  • Yoshiharu's surname, Tsubameya, is the Japanese term for the swallow bird, it is also what his cafe is named after.
    • His first name, Yoshiharu, means "joy/pleasure" - befitting the nature of the customer service he provides.

Manga-Anime Differences[]

  • Because the anime adapted this chapter later on in the series, the cameo from "The Targeted Deer Club" marks the first time the Swallow Cafe is shown in the anime, as opposed to what would have been an adaptation of this chapter.
    • It is also worth noting that it was her brother, Tsubameya Yoshiharu, who is shown reacting surprised and asking what made his sister blush so happily after she returns from school. However, in the anime, this was an offscreen voice instea.
      • In the anime, the cafe was also made into a hybrid of also being the Tsubameya family household.
  • In the manga, the song that Yoshiharu puts on to welcome Torako and Shikanoko is never specified. In the anime, it is the show's opening song.
    • Yoshiharu being the front of a magazine cover is exclusive to the anime.
    • Yoshimaru mentions his sister Chiharu's collection of deer memorabilia from the previous episode when he becomes confused at the fact that deers have become popular.
