Despite being new here, all you two do ever do is laze around and goof off! Where's your Deer Club pride?! It makes me really sad… we worked our butts off to form this club… and now, look at it! If they find out how lazy we are, they'll cut our club funds! And I'll be kicked off the student council!

Characters[]

- Nekoyamada Neko
- Tanukikoji Kinu (non-speaking)

Trivia[]
- In the additional mini-comics at the end of the chapter, it is revealed that Noko can brew coffee using her hollow head.
- The scene of Koshi brushing Noko while the other two members of the Deer Club are present is also referenced in the anime's intro.
- As opposed to the regular adaptation of chapters of the manga, "Summer Deer Festival" has adapted majority of the author's doodles at the end of some of the chapters.
- Excluding the full adaptation of Chapter 24, the author's doodles adapted are: the six from this chapter, another six from Chapter 25, four from Chapter 30, and one anime exclusive segment.
Manga-Anime Differences[]
- The scene of Noko reading a manga of the first volume of the Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan franchise itself is exclusive to the anime.
- The brush Noko asks Koshi to use on her and Bashame is a regular hairbrush in the manga, while this is turned to an animal's fur brush in the anime.
- In the manga, the rest of the student council spy on the Deer Club members with a menacing aura indicating that they see them as rivals. In the anime, however, this was changed to the three spying on them with a bored expression, seeing them as pathetic enough to not seem like worthy competition.
- When Koshi was frustrated about how the Deer Club's funding was being spent, because Chapters 10 and 13 were adapted later on in the anime, the dialogue was revised and instead of mentioning The Deer Collection and the boardgame Game of Deer Life, this was changed to Koshi talking about the damage Anko did to the club as well as the trivia game.
- In the manga, Noko tells Koshi she could sell one of the former's antlers on E*-Fjord, while in the anime, she mentions Mercari instead.
- Additionally, in the manga, the antler sold for 2,000 yen, whereas in the anime, it is implied that it was enough to cover the costs of the destruction to the Deer Club as well as the cost of the trivia game.
- In the manga, Noko tells Koshi she could sell one of the former's antlers on E*-Fjord, while in the anime, she mentions Mercari instead.
- During the segment where Noko was checking the popularity poll among animals in Japan, the manga only included the top three, while in the anime, it adds an additional scene of Noko scrolling all the way down, showing how deer are outdated.
Cultural References[]
- The additional mini-comics at the end of the chapter features Gurgle, a parody of Google.
Continuity[]
- The matching mugs Anko got for herself and Koshi has one of the designs resemble the wriggling black cat stuffed toy that is part of Koshi's collection as shown in the Chapter 9.
- One of the mini-comics at the end of the chapter has Koshi recalling the events of Chapters 7 and 8.
Errors[]
- Koshi states how only Anko and Bashame were slacking off, when Noko was also just lazing around. This dialogue was corrected in the anime.
