My Deer Friend Nokotan (しかのこのこのここしたんたん, Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan) is the Japanese-animated television series adaption based on the titular manga written by Oshioshio.
The series was greenlit on March 13, 2024, and made its official premiere on July 7, 2024 for both Japanese and global audiences and concluded at September 18, 2024 with twelve episodes in total.
Plot[]
Torako Koshi is a popular and beautiful high school girl who tries to keep up appearances as a prim and proper beauty. However, one day, she rescues a strange deer girl hanging from some power lines on the way to school.
The girl then soon transfers into her school, introduces herself as Shikanoko, and begins dragging Torako into her bizarre antics, threatening to expose her hidden past as a delinquent, all while Torako seems to be the only one who notices anything wrong with Noko.

- "Deer Meets Dark Girl" - Someone has sabotaged the Deer Club's warehouse and its members want to get to the bottom of it.

- "The Deer Club in the Crosshairs" - The Deer Club has its first rival looking forward to disband the club.
- "Grab Her Weakness!" - Koshi tries to find out what Noko does outside of school, or if she even has a home to go to.
- "Summer Deer Festival" - It's finally summer time in Hino City.
- "DeerColle, Streaming, Hospitality, etc." - Noko urges Koshi to practice for The Deer Collection together.
- "Goodbye Old Deer, Hello New Deer" - The members of the Deer Club and the members of the student council pay respect to a local shrine during New Year's Eve.
- "Get The Sports Festival Done!" - The day of the sports festival has arrived at Hino Minami High.
- "Blame It On Spring..." - Koshi finds Noko crying one day, and Noko herself doesn't seem to know why either.
- "The pursuer and the pursued." - One day, Koshi finds out that Noko is being hunted.
- "Farewell, Nokotan!? The Deer Club Forever" - Soichiro Kumatori warns Noko of a group of hunters coming after her.

- Despite the official English name of the series being My Deer Friend Nokotan, the transliteration of the original title is just a combination of Noko's full name, Shikanoko Noko, and Koshi's nickname, Koshitan.
- Putting the transliteration of the two names into account, Noko's full name may roughly mean "Deer Girl who is unbothered", while the nickname Koshitan also works as an idiom, meaning "to watch intently (like a tiger)" - making the literal meaning of the original title as "Deer Girl is unbothered by the tiger watching her intently".
- Both the original and the English dub have the same premiere schedule for its episodes, making it one of the only anime to do so.
- In the English dub, Nekoyamada meowing in frustration is changed to her groaning "Damn!".
- Despite having a narrator, the English dub does not translate the visual notes that sometimes appear onscreen, nor any of the Japanese text (i.e the text on Koshi's notebook cover, Kinu's will, etc.) from the original.
- Unlike the rest of the cast, whose English voice actors were revealed beforehand, Kinu's voice actor, Nickolette Kong, was only revealed after Kinu's debut episode aired in English.
- Additionally, Ms. Ukai's English voice actor is the only one who has not been credited/revealed.
- To promote the episode "Girl Meets Deer", the series' official Twitter posted a manga-esque illustration of delinquent Torako with a chibi Noko on her shoulder.

- The clips used in the first official trailer have its majority come from the first episode, "Girl Meets Deer", followed by "Deer Meets Dark Girl", and "Bashame Enrolls", respectively. While the second trailer includes clips from "Bashame Enrolls", "Grab Her Weakness!", "The Deer Club in the Crosshairs", "DeerColle, Streaming, Hospitality, etc.", "Summer Deer Festival", "Deer Meets Dark Girl", and "Girl Meets Deer", in that order.
- "Grab Her Weakness!" is the first episode to have one of the three chapters it is adapting have a significantly large gap between the other two. In this case, Volume 4's Chapter 21 was grouped with Chapters 3 and 4.
