Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan (manga)/Timeline

The following is the timeline of events of the Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan manga, as the anime does not adapt the chapters chronologically.

Timeline of Events[]

Chapters 1 and 2 - Torako Koshi finds and saves Noko Shikanoko down from powerlines, Noko transfers to Torako's high school.
Chapter 3 - Koshi finds a letter in her locker, while Noko urges her to respond to it.
Chapter 4 - Koshi wants to find out what Noko does outside of school. It is revealed that it has been a week since the events of Chapter 1.
Chapter 5 - Noko founds the Deer Club after getting Koshi to help her clean the abandoned school warehouse.
Chapter 6 - Koshi finds out Noko is afraid of plastic water bottles.
Chapters 7, 8, and 9 - Noko tells Koshi that someone has it out for her. The two then find the culprit and Noko insists on doing a trivia game battle with her.
Chapter 10 - Noko wants to take part in the Deer Collection fashion show in Hino.
Chapter 11 - Ms. Ukai insists that Koshi should livestream the activities of the Deer Club.

Chapter 12 - At December 31st nearing midnight, Koshi pays a visit to the local Deer God Shrine.

Chapters 13 and 14 - On New Year's Day, Noko plays Game of Deer Life with the Koshi sisters.

Chapter 16 - Noko is revealed to have hay fever, which Koshi also contracts at the end of the chapter.
Chapter 17 - Koshi finds a deer in the Deer Club.
Chapter 18 - Koshi and Noko find a first-year sleeping in front of their club's doorstep.
Chapter 19 - Koshi discusses the future of the Deer Club with its members.
Chapter 20 - Koshi meets up with the new members of the student council.
Chapter 21 - Neko Nekoyamada tries to find dirt on the Deer Club to get it shut down.
Chapter 22 - Koshi finds Chiharu Tsubameya invited into the Deer Club.
Chapter 23 - Koshi and Kinu Tanukikoji check up on the gym storage's inventory.
Chapter 24 - Noko shares her ultimate discovery to the student council.

Chapters 25 and 26 - The day of the Hino Minami High School's sports festival has arrived.
Chapter 27 - Noko makes a special guest appearance at the Flower Arrangement Club one day.

Despite the consistency of the timeline in the manga, it seemingly still disregards taking the students' grade levels into account.
Seeing as how Koshi and Noko only practiced during Chapter 10, and that the DeCo is set to happen in 2020, as well as the mention of 2020 only being an upcoming year in one of the mini-comics of Chapter 19, it can be assumed that Chapter 13 onwards is currently taking palace in 2019, while Chapters 12 and earlier at 2018.
- In "DeerColle, Streaming, Hospitality, etc.", the DeerColle being held in 2020 is changed to 2024 in the anime to fit the real-time year at the time of the episode's release, making the anime take place in 2024 onwards.
  - This makes "Goodbye Old Deer, Hello New Deer", the episode that adapts Chapters 12, 13, and 14 take place in 2025, making "Get The Sports Festival Done!" take place in Spring of 2025.
It can be inferred that Chapters 21 to 23 take place within the same week. This is further supported by the anime, as they made Chapters 22 and 23 happen within two consecutive days.
